NOTE: Because a baby is smaller than a child, you only use 2 fingers to compress the chest.
CPR for Adults
CPR for adults is very similar to CPR for babies and children, but instead of giving 5 initial rescue breaths, go straight to 30 chest compressions followed by 2 breaths.
- This is because when an adult needs CPR it is usually because of a heart-related problem, whereas with infants and children it is usually due to a breathing problem.
You will be able to see this demonstrated in the video in the next lesson, about using a defibrillator.
